Applications

Silver foam is a low-density permeable material with numerous applications. Typical applications are as follows:

• Catalyst

Silver foam can take place of silver plate as catalyst in many chemical reactions, as its large specific surface area and high catalyst efficiency; silver foam has also been successfully used as a photocatalytic air purification carrier.

• Electrical Comparison Material

Silver foam has been used in nickel-zinc batteries and in electric double layer capacitors; in addition, silver foam is also used as a material for electrolytic recovery of silver-containing wastewater.

• Filter Material

As its excellent structural properties and basically harmless to human body, silver foam can be used as medical filter materials; meanwhile, silver foam has good prospects for application in water purification devices.

• Thermal Conductive Material
